# Why Billspree

> Built for businesses where growth shows up in billing complexity, not operational complexity.

Most businesses reach a point where the core service hasn't changed — but the billing has gotten complicated.

You're still doing what you've always done. But you now have residential and commercial customers on different pricing models. Or fixed contracts alongside usage-based accounts. Or B2C invoices going out at the same time as consolidated B2B bills with negotiated rates and separate AR tracking. The service is the same. The bill is not.

That complexity doesn't show up in your operations — it shows up at invoice time. And that's where general accounting tools fall short.

## The Gap

General accounting tools handle the ledger well. They can produce a simple invoice. But as billing complexity grows, the cracks show: pricing lives in spreadsheets, invoices go out without a proper review cycle, adjustments get edited directly onto posted bills, and businesses running B2C and B2B side by side end up managing two disconnected systems. The gap fills with manual workarounds and fixes after the fact.

Billspree is built for that gap. It is only billing — and it does that one thing properly.

## What Billspree Solves

**Pricing lives in spreadsheets.**
The same product often needs many different price tags — by region, by segment, by contract. A [Pricing Template](/billing/package) defines the structure once; you build rate cards, charging rules, and plans on top of it without rebuilding from scratch every time. Billspree runs those rules on the bill — you decide the rates.

**Billing stops at invoice generation.**
Most tools send an invoice and stop there. Billspree runs a full billing cycle — draft, review, adjust, and post in batch — so every invoice reflects the customer's true net position before it goes out.

**Adjustments break the books.**
When a credit or correction is applied directly to a posted invoice, what the customer received no longer matches the ledger. Billspree uses formal AR subledgers — credit notes, debit notes, and payments all post as separate entries. The balance is the sum of every transaction on record, not a number someone edited.

**B2C and B2B on separate systems.**
Retail and enterprise customers rarely fit the same billing model. Billspree handles both in one place — individual subscriptions for B2C, consolidated invoices across multiple services for B2B enterprise accounts.

## Who It Is For

Businesses that have outgrown a general accounting tool but don't need a full ERP — where the real complexity isn't in how the service is delivered, but in how it gets billed.
