# Quoting

> Create and manage quotes for your customers with products, plans, addons, and discounts.

## **What is Quoting**

Quoting allows you to generate formal price estimates for potential customers before they commit to a subscription. It provides a way to bundle various offerings—including products, plans, and addons—while applying specific discounts to tailor the proposal to the customer's needs.

***

## **Creating a Quote**

To create a new quote, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the **Quoting** section in your dashboard.
2. Click the **+ New Quote** button.
3. Select the **Customer** or lead you are creating the quote for.

### **Adding Items to a Quote**

You can build a comprehensive quote by adding different components from your catalog:

* **Products**: Select physical or digital products from your inventory.
* **Plans**: Choose from your available [Base Plans](/billing/pricing-module) (e.g., Flat, Tiered, or Volume-based).
* **Add-ons**: Include optional [Add-On Plans](/billing/pricing-module) that complement the main plan.
* **Discounts**: Apply percentage or flat-rate [Discounts](/bookspree/discounts) to specific items or the entire quote.

***

## **Managing Quotes**

Once a quote is created, you can:

* **Preview**: View how the quote will appear to the customer.
* **Send**: Email the quote directly to the customer for approval.
* **Convert**: Once the customer accepts, easily convert the quote into an active **Subscription**.

## **Next steps**

* Learn how to [Manage Subscriptions](/billing/subscription) once a quote is accepted.
* Explore how to configure [Discounts](/bookspree/discounts) for your quotes.
* Set up your [Product Catalog](/billing/package) to include more items in your quotes.

<Tip>
Use quotes to streamline your sales process and ensure customers have a clear
  understanding of costs before onboarding.
